Bitcoin: An Idea That Would Change the World

How time flies!

Do you possibly remember 2008? Not that long ago right? Really. Not that long ago. But in dog years, pretty long. Or should we say “tech years.” Twelve years ago the iPhone was a mere infant, just one year on the scene. And Bitcoin? Hello World! Isn’t it interesting how innovation “can” happen. Some people hold that it’s a dramatic undertaking, that you have to move heaven and earth, get alignment, raise money, be brilliant, be brave.

Or. Or. Maybe you just have an idea and release it into the world. Such was the inclination of someone calling himself (or herself) Satoshi Nakomoto. Twelve years ago said mystery person published an idea that would change the world. Was it a PhD thesis perhaps? A well written and detailed plan, architecture, proposal with funding and an intricate roadmap explaining the business plan backed up by market studies?

Nope. Just a person with an idea. Nine pages. Proposing a peer-to-peer version of electronic cash that “would allow online payments to be sent directly from one party to another without going through a financial institution.”

What’s your idea?
