Cathy Nichols

Cathy's 2001 leap of faith helped to fuel the growth of Diamond Consultants. As the firm's first hire, she was intrigued by what Mindy Diamond was building and looked forward to the opportunity to use the skills she developed over the years in a growing company and an industry that was new to her.

After earning a Bachelor of Science degree with distinction from the University of Michigan, Cathy began her career at the Henry Ford Hospital. She later served as hospital administrator for Shriners Hospitals for Children, and then director of purchasing at Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital. These roles offered her the opportunity to hone her skills in operations, administration and contract negotiations.

When it came time to shift to the role of financial advisor recruiter for Diamond, Cathy found that her experiences were a natural fit. She relates much of what she does now to her former occupation as a hospital administrator, a role that included identifying problems and inefficiencies, and creating solutions—much like what she does for the advisors she works with.
