Larry Stein is the CEO of Disciplined Investment Management in Deerfield, IL. The firm focuses on helping clients make their money last, such as retirees and those planning to retire, as well as independent women, including divorcees and widows.
Larry's passion for investing began as a 10-year old watching his father scan the stock market tables. His father eventually became tired of answering questions and told Larry to gain some knowledge on his own. That only fueled his desire. Larry would go to the library after school to study investment reference materials and comb through books. By the time he graduated high school, he had read nearly every investment book in the Highland Park library.
The author of two books, Peace of Mind Investing (2012) and Value Investing (1987), Larry is frequently quoted in the media for his views on investing and retirement issues. He is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER (CFP®) and in 2014, Larry was named Chicago Ambassador to the national CFP Board.
