Spark: The Most Exciting Drone of the Year?

If you’ve been living under a rock you probably haven’t heard of the new DJI release – Spark .

Don’t except it to be more powerful than what DJI already has in store, but this is definitely one that got everyone excited and for the right reasons.

First of all is really TINY! So tiny that it can compete to your shiny iPhone 7plus, measuring only 143 x 143 x 55 mm and it weights only 300g.

It can only fly for about 16 minutes on a full battery charge and comes with a 12 megapixel camera, incorporating a 1/2.3 inch sensor and a wide f 2.6 lens.

I know what you are all thinking, that does not sound as exciting, especially if you’re in the market for a professional drone, but Spark was not designed to fulfil that role, as it only films in full HD at the moment and only has a 2 axis mechanical stabilisation gimbal.

Why everyone is raving about is because is so tiny and you can control it without using a remote. Yeah, you read that right, it can be controlled with hand gestures. It also comes with 4 intelligent flight modes, as well as being able to trace and follow a selected subject from a fixed perspective.

Have I mentioned that is also available in multiple colours such as green, red, blue, yellow and white?

Don’t worry if you haven’t used a drone before because this will be the easiest thing to do ever, and can’t wait to get my hands on one.

At the moment they retail at about £519 for the standard pack or you can choose the fly more combo for just £699 .

I can see a new drone in the series with more power in terms of speed and video quality, but kudos to DJI for realising something that can be used by anyone just to give them a taste of the drone fever.
